Tennesseans across the state proudly display our traditional tristar logo with stickers, decals and more, but are you doing it correctly?

According to our friends at Volunteer Traditions and several other sources, the correct way to position the tristar is to have two stars over one, with the left star slightly higher.

In fact, in part of the directive made law in 1905 by the legislature, it states that no two stars of the three-star logo shall be in a line parallel to either the side or end of the flag, and that the highest star shall be the one nearest the upper confined corner of the flag. So instead of displaying them like a triangle, put two stars over one, and then rotate slightly clockwise.
