Tennessee offers mouthwatering barbecue across the state, but Memphis ‘cue is some of the most delicious and authentic around.
Craig David Meek talks about the history of barbecue in the region in his new book, Memphis Barbecue: A Succulent History of Smoke, Sauce & Soul. From popular restaurants like Jim Neely’s Interstate Barbecue to lesser-known joints like William’s Bar-B-Q in west Memphis, Meek chronicles the history of the craft in one of Tennessee’s most famous barbecue cities.

It’s actually a book on the history of Memphis barbecue, not a cookbook. I’m the author and I buy my health insurance through Tennessee Farm Bureau, so it was a pleasant surprise seeing this giveaway in the magazine.
We enjoy eating at Neil’s Barbque in Dyersburg, TN.
