‘Ramp’ Up for a Good Festival

April 13, 2011

By admin

Green eggs and ramps? Ramp rolls? Maybe ramp chip cookies?

Follow your nose to the Cosby Ramp Festival, where the garlicky wild ramp plant reigns supreme. Ramps are the official herald of spring in the East Tennessee mountains, and Cocke County makes the most of the event with music, crafts, a Maid of Ramps contest, and plenty of tasty ramp recipes. The festival is held at Kineauvista Hill, five miles south of Newport near Knoxville. For more information, call 423-623-1009.

Unfortunately, we have learned there will be no ramp festival in Cosby for 2013. We apologize for any inconvenience.

  1. Connie Geddings says:

Shouldn’t the date for the Cosby Ramp Festival be Sunday, May 5, 2013 and not Monday, May 6, 2013?
