Tennessee state license plate birdhouse made by From the Heart of Tennessee
This year at the Tennessee Farm Bureau annual meeting, you can meet some of the craftspeople and farmers featured in past issues of Tennessee Home & Farm. They’ll be showcasing their crafts and creations at the Market Square Trade Show on Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009, from 1-5 p.m. at the Cool Springs Marriott Hotel in Franklin.
Those slated to attend include:
• Peach pit artist Roger Smith of Culleoka, who carves figurines out of peach seeds
• Gourd artist Maxine Osburn of Rickman, who creates birdhouses, bowls and other decorative crafts from gourds
• Ed and Teresa Rollins of Rollins Family Farm in Giles County, who have created an organic soil conditioner
• John and Sherry Geunther of Monterey, who run Muddy Pond Sorghum Mill
• Gary Smith, who oversees state license plate birdhouses made by From the Heart of Tennessee, a program sponsored by the state’s Division of Intellectual Disabilities
• Mike Clemmer, owner of Wood-N-Strings Dulcimer Shop in Townsend
Also, we’ll be selling copies of the Pettus Read book Read All About It. Get your Christmas shopping done and support your fellow Tennesseans – we hope to see you there!
