Out of This World Pie

Ingredients:
1 can cherry pie filling
3/4 cup sugar
1 large can crushed pineapple with juice
1 Tablespoon cornstarch
1 teaspoon red food coloring
1 (3-ounce) package cherry gelatin
4 bananas, sliced
1 cup chopped pecans
2 baked pie shells
Whipped topping
Procedure:
Combine the pie filling, sugar, undrained pineapple, cornstarch and food coloring in a saucepan and cook until thick. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the gelatin. Cool. Stir in the bananas and pecans. Pour into the baked pie shells. Chill well and top with whipped topping to serve.

I don’t see anything in the recipe that calls for brown sugar, nuts, etc. The recipe calls for only “whipped topping” or in other words Cool Whip or other whipping cream type products. You are reading in something that isn’t there.

To all who read my comment pertaining to brown sugar, nuts. etc. THE ORIGIANL RECIPE THAT WAS PRINTED DID CONTAIN THESE ITEMS. I RECEIVED A REPLY FROM THE MAGAZINE EDITOR WHO EXPRESSED HER REMORSE FOR THE INCORRECT RECIPE AND STATED A REVISED CORRECTION WAS BEING DONE. THE REVISED & CORRECTED RECIPE IS NOW WHAT YOU ARE READING.

I have read the recipe and read it again. What do you do with the TOPPING???(brown sugar,nuts,cinnamon,nutmeg). Is there a misprint in the recipe??? All I see in the photo with the recipe is the WHIPPED TOPPING on top of the pie, NO OTHER TOPPING??? I would really love to try this recipe. Please reply.
