Tree Improvement Program Fosters the Forestry

The University of Tennessee’s Tree Improvement Program (UT-TIP) has spent the past half-century to “faithfully improve and protect the forests.” Since 1959, UT-TIP has been securing forest animals’ winter food supply and studying ways to make forest property more valuable. The program also benefits landowners by improving the genetics, and thus productivity, of both hardwood and coniferous trees.
Striving to educate students from kindergarten up, UT-TIP is the oldest active forestry research program in the state. Visit their website for more information.
