Even the greatest traditions need a little change now and then. Visitors to the 2013 Tennessee State Fair can expect an event with a bigger emphasis on agriculture, a brighter, more modern twist – and a new logo, to boot.
This year’s celebration – themed “Come Grow with Us” – will feature the culture of the state of Tennessee that includes agriculture and youth along with heritage and future. The traditional competitions will be held with the rides and events that the Tennessee State Fair upholds.
A new dairy and poultry show competition called Champion of Champions will showcase winning animals from poultry or dairy shows at local county fairs.
Bluegrass music has long been a popular stage and this year the Tennessee State fair is focusing on agriculture, horticulture, creative and performing arts, natural resources, and recreation that will be promoted through the Tennessee State Fair Association.
The Tennessee State Fair runs Sept. 6-15 at the state fairgrounds in Nashville. For more details and a full list of events, visit http://tnstatefair.org.
